Variegated Liriope
Description
Gardeners love the variegated liriope shrub for its stunning purple springtime blooms and adaptability to a wide range of environmental conditions. This hardy groundcover has gorgeous violet-blue flowers in the middle of summer along with variegated dark green and white leaves that are striped with creamy yellow. Fall adds to its seasonal appeal with blue-black berries that follow the purple flowers. Monkey grass, so named because of its tall, grass-like foliage, fills in areas where no other plant can grow and aids in erosion control. The Variegated Liriope thrives in grow zones 6–11 and is incredibly adaptable and low-maintenance.
