The Appalachian Dining Set is a vision of the refined and rejuvenated lodge motif. Exotic hardwoods and exquisite design elements are combined with time-honored craftsmanship to produce a dining collection that delivers both a rustic and refined appeal. As the sustainable hardwoods for this collection, we selected mango and rubberwood. We chose mango for the dining table and server due to its brilliant grain characteristics. Solid mango has diverse, striated grain patterns and unique opalescent qualities that give it a shimmering appearance. We construct the support elements (trestle base, chair backs, and legs) from solid rubberwood. Our 6-step burnished honey brown finish enhances the natural traits of the hardwood while adding a warm, even tone and mild distressing to accentuate the relaxed aesthetic. Intentional distressing techniques such as rasping, dry brushing, burnished edges, semi-rolled corners, and pin holes provide a seasoned look. To achieve superior seating in our dining chairs, we incorporated 3” thick foam cushions and Pirelli webbing into the oversized, upholstered seating. Together, the solid hardwoods, proven construction techniques, and thoughtful features combine to create a beautiful dining collection that will provide you with years of lasting enjoyment.
